Nikhil Kumar

Nikhil Kumar is a Ph.D. researcher at the Center for Vehicle Systems and Safety, though he joined as a M.Sc. student, he transferred to the Ph.D. program in 2023. He received his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology in 2022. During his undergraduate, he did several projects that earned him merit certificates from his school and other conferences. He was also part of a foundation that taught Mathematics and English in government schools. Currently, he is working on experimentally evaluating the contact dynamics of the wheel-rail interface and studying the effects of various traction reducers and enhancers by conducting experiments with the state-of-the-art VT-FRA Roller Rig. His interests include cinema, music, and photography. He plays cricket, badminton and loves to take hikes in his free time.
