Aditya Rahalkar

Aditya Rahalkar is a Ph.D. student at the Center for Vehicle Systems and Safety (CVeSS) in Virginia Tech. He completed his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) in 2024. Over the course of his undergraduate degree, he was involved in multiple research projects involving the applications of Machine Learning and Data Science into the domains of Condition Monitoring and Fault Detection.  At CVeSS, he is working on non-contact detection and evaluation of Rail Gage Face lubricant using Optical Sensing Methods. His work aims to improve the rail maintenance and reduce the potential derailing of trains due to the lack of lubrication on the rails. Aditya believes in using his research expertise to build products that will have a positive impact on people's lives.

Apart from his academics, Aditya is a big soccer enthusiast, having led his Undergraduate college Soccer team at multiple tournaments. He loves playing badminton and has been a State-Level badminton player during his High School days.
