Ahmad Radmehr, Ph.D.

Ahmad Radmehr is a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Vehicle Systems & Safety. He received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology in 2012. During his undergraduate studies, Ahmad served as a member of IUT Aerospace Team, which participated and ranked 4th in the International Micro Air Vehicle Conference and Flight Competition in Germany in 2010. Following graduation, Ahmad won a scholarship to pursue his M.Sc. at Sharif University of Technology. During this period, he worked on several projects such as “Vehicle Fuel Consumption Estimation Using Artificial Neural Networks (ANN).” Ahmad earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in December 2020 at Virginia Tech, where he worked on the statistical analysis of the contact mechanics and dynamics using the experimental data coming from the VT-FRA Roller Rig. His current projects include experimental analysis of wheel-rail contact mechanics and dynamics under various conditions and evaluating track stability using unsupervised machine learning methods. He enjoys soccer, volleyball, mountain climbing, and spending his free time outdoors.
