Zachary VanKat
Zachary VanKat is an undergraduate research assistant at CVeSS and he is in his last semester of the undergraduate studies earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. After he graduates, he plans to continue studying at Virginia Tech for his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, he is involved with the data acquisition team for the offtracking and rollover studies.

Congratulations to Dr. Ahmadian for being named the J. B. Jones Chair of Mechanical Engineering by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors!
Railway Technologies Laboratory (RTL) recently received a project from the Association of American Railroads to develop a new generation of Doppler Lidar equipment for track stability evaluation. The project starts from July 2020 and is expected to continue for multiple years.
